Nobivac Lepto4 is the first and only canine Leptospira vaccine proven to prevent mortality and preserve life. Nobivac Lepto4 is a bacterin that contains whole cultures of L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona that are inactivated and then purified by an ultrafiltration process. This bacterin is approved for the vaccination of healthy dogs as an aid in the prevention of disease and mortality caused by these 4 key Leptospira serovars. Nobivac Lepto4 is adjuvanted to stimulate a sustainable immune response. In addition, this vaccine contains gentamicin and amphotericin B, antimicrobials that serve as preservatives. Nobivac Lepto4 does not contain thimerosal. Nobivac Lepto4 is administered subcutaneously in a 1-mL dose. The initial dose may be given at 8 weeks of age or older with a booster 2 to 4 weeks later. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
